Rockefeller Memorial Chapel is open to visitors from 8 am to 5:30 pm daily. The Chapel remains open after 5:30 pm when evening events are taking place.
The Interreligious Center, on the lower level of the Chapel, is open to members of the University from 7 am until 11 pm, with a valid University ID for card access, via the entrance on the northwest corner of the Chapel.
Access, Directions, and Parking
Rockefeller Memorial Chapel is accessible, with the exception of its balconies, tower, and carillon. The wheelchair elevator to the lower level is located in the main entrance lobby, near the southwest door. Ramps from the parking lot at 59th Street and University Avenue (with reserved handicapped spaces) lead to the west entrances of the Chapel. There is also a ramp from the Chapel’s circular driveway (accessed from Woodlawn Avenue) on the east, leading to the east entrances where visitors may be dropped off (there is no parking allowed in the Chapel’s driveway).

Please note that, while the routes depicted on this map are usable by most people, they may not be in full compliance with all federal accessibility standards. The University is continuing to make improvements to these routes and is working in conjunction with the City of Chicago to identify City-controlled areas in need of improvement. Ongoing construction projects or street repairs may also temporarily limit accessibility. The University will update this map as frequently as possible to reflect construction detours, but the University also encourages you to review the status of University construction projects at the Facilities Services Campus Plan and Construction site.
